Dempsey told police that he arrived at a local eatery planning to meet a woman he talked to on an app but his ex-girlfriend showed up instead, according to the arrest warrant the New Haven Register obtained. Dempsey told the woman he was leaving the eatery but she followed him to his truck and got inside, the Register reports citing the arrest warrant.

According to the arrest warrant, Dempsey and the woman were kissing in his truck and were "intimate" but when he asked her to leave repeatedly she refused.

“Dempsey stated that she was resisting his push to stay in the truck and she slipped off the seat, falling out of the truck," the New Haven Register reports citing the arrest warrant.
