Milford Police Officer Charged With Unlawful Discharge: PD

The police officer was out on medical leave at the time of the incident, according to a report which was confirmed by police.

MILFORD, CT — Milford Police Sgt. Peter Parks, 38, who is currently out on medical leave, was arrested after being accused of firing a gun into the air outside after a verbal argument, police told Patch.

NBC Connecticut was the first media outlet to report the incident. Police spokesman Officer Michael DeVito said in an email to Patch Wednesday that Parks "status is the same as previously reported" by NBC CT, which is that Chief Keith Mello is currently reviewing the incident.

On Tuesday, Milford Police released some information concerning the incident. They said, on Jan. 27, police responded to a local home on a report of a possible domestic violence incident.

Investigation led to the arrest of Parks who is charged with unlawful discharge, police said. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond. His next court date is Feb. 25.

Parks was promoted in 2011 from a patrolman to a sergeant.
