Milford Princess, 7, Has Her Dreams Come True
Make-A-Wish Connecticut makes one Milford girl's dreams come true.
On Friday June 20th at 2:00PM, Princess Alonna Beard and her sister Princess Skyler were escorted by horse and carriage (shaped like a pumpkin!) around the outside of the Westfield Connecticut Post mall in Milford to greet crowds gathered in her honor, according to a press release from Connecticut Make-A-Wish.
Princess Alonna, an upcoming recipient of a wish from Make-A-Wish Connecticut, was turned into a Princess by Sundae Spa at Westfield Connecticut Post.
She has an autoimmune disorder that can be life-threatening.
She received the full royal treatment at Sundae Spa – manicure, pedicure, facial, makeup and much more! Then at 2:00PM, a magical coach picked them up and escorted them throughout the mall’s outdoor grounds, filled with cheering and adoring fans to wish her well as she embarks on her wish to go to Walt Disney World.
Guests gathered along the roadways near Sundae Spa to cheer as Princess Alonna boards her carriage, departs, and arrives back at the Sundae Spa at the end of her parade. Guests arrived at the carriage route at 1:45 in order to take part in this opportunity to celebrate Alonna’s wish come true and give her the thrill a true princess deserves as she parades the streets around Westfield Connecticut Post. And after the Princess Alonna parade concludes, Sundae Spa will be offering free pink hair extensions to supporters and fans who joined the community to help make a young girl’s wish come true.
The '66 Mustang from Disney's "The Princess Diaries" will also be onsite for Alonna and Skyler to pose for photos in front of after the parade!
“We are thrilled to be sending Princess Alonna off on her wish to Walt Disney World in such a magical way,” commented Michael Dominick, Community & Media Relations Manager for Make-A-Wish Connecticut. “Sundae Spa, Westfield Connecticut Post, and the entire community are joining together to give Alonna and her sister Skyler a send-off celebration they are sure to never forget, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication and support.”
“We are all about the kids at Sundae Spa,” said founder and owner Kim Swan. “Make-A-Wish gives us the opportunity to further that goal and share an extra special day with a child. We feel that the gift is ours to have been chosen to help make Princess Alonna’s wish and dream come true.”
“Westfield Connecticut Post is honored to play a role in making Alonna’s wish come true,” said Dan Kiley, General Manager at Westfield Connecticut Post. “We are grateful to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut and Sundae Spa for partnering with us on this opportunity to invite all of Milford to join in on the celebration for this remarkable young girl from our local community.”
A special thank you to Sassy Mouth Photography, based in Meriden CT, for donating their services on Friday and capturing this exciting event in Alonna’s honor.
