MILFORD, CT — The Milford Public Library has wonderful and engaging programs and events for adults, young adults and children! Please check out our exciting April newsletter for all the details.

For Adults: A timely seminar on Tax Efficient Retirement Planning, honor the 113th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, with author and retired UNH Professor, Stephen Spignesi’s as he shares little known facts about the world’s most famous maritime disaster. Milford’s new Poet Laureate, Elaine Nadal, will be joined by Poets Laureate from across Connecticut for a special evening celebrating April as Poetry Month. We will also be having a Family Game Night as well as Game Inventors’ Workshop. Other programs delve into AI, provide helpful tips for managing loneliness, and focus on Mental Health as well as free NARCAN training.

Young Adults can enjoy making Peaches & Cream Whoopee pies, make their own hydrangea flower relief painting, create eye-popping graffiti graphics, and have fun with an Open Video Game Play program as well as the Family Game Night.

Spring Storytime Sessions continue for children on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Kids can also enjoy making chocolate banana cupcakes, a Goodnight Library evening family story time, LEGO Builders, STEAM Earth Day Lab, Music Pop-Class, the Oscar-nominated family movie, The Wild Robot, and many more great programs for children!

Our movies this month feature Kieran Culkin’s Oscar-winning performance in A Real Pain and Timothee Chalamet’s highly acclaimed and Oscar-nominated performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

E-resource news! In March, Milford Public Library began offering two new e-resources:

Transparent Language, which replaces MANGO, our previous online language learner, offers amazing, easy to use and comprehensive language learning (including American Sign Language and learning English as another language. (MANGO will still be available until March 31).

UniversalClass is another new e-resource that the Library is offering featuring hundreds of amazing online courses with topics ranging from accounting to homeschooling to test preparation to self-care!

As always, a huge thank you to the Friends of Milford Library for funding all our programs.

The Library will be closed on Saturday, April 5 as we prepare for our big Friends of the Library fundraising event that night called, ACTS IN THE STACKS. The Library will also be closed on Friday, April 18 for Good Friday.
