Celtic Music! Tellabration! Crafternoon! All this plus we also have many more engaging programs and events happening at the Library in November. We hope you can join us!

The Genealogy Club continues under the guidance of a new group moderator, Larry Smith. Learn how to use the online image editor, "CANVA: Free and Easy Page Layout & Design". Enjoy a night out playing board games as we are happy to welcome Milford Pride’s first GAYME NIGHT. Games will be provided (or bring your own). Bring a friend and/or make new ones. Free and all are welcome! Adult programs at the Library in November focusing on mental wellness and health include The Caring Network: A Grief Support Group of Bridges Healthcare, and Joint Wellness with Yale New Haven Health Orthopedics, and Dr. Wendy Hurwitz will present Approaches to Conflict Resolution. Everyone’s favorite troubadour, Jeff Snow, is back for a live concert: "A Gathering of Celtic Holiday Music". Tuesday Movie Matinees will feature Jane Lynch, Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara in the insightful and hilarious comedy about the world of competitive dog shows, Best In Show, directed by Christoper Guest and see Oscar-nominee, June Squibb as an elderly woman who seeks justice after being conned out of her money in a telephone scam in Thelma.

Young Adult programs will feature making (and eating) delicious food in the continuing series, Passport to Cooking featuring Mexican food in November. Get creative making Perler Bead Magnets during YA Crafternoon. Two different programs, "Why Choose a Community College?" (Grades 9-12 and their caregivers), and "Financial Aid 101" (grades 6-12 and their caregivers) will provide valuable and useful information about these important topics.

For Children, Fall Storytimes continue on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from November 12 – December 19. Music will fill the air when the Suzuki Music School of Orange come to visit for a "Music Pop-Up Class"! Dino-vember programs include "Dinosaur Process Art" and "Rocks, Minerals and Fossils" with Cool-ology (where you can unearth gems and geodes and learn how paleontologists dig for fossils). Other cool children’s program include: Election Day Character Showdown (vote for your favorite book characters!), Lego Builders, Read-to-a-Therapy Dog with Pet Partners, Goodnight Library and the fall family movie, Migration. All ages are welcome to hear Meris Palmer’s lively and passionate sharing of tales and stories at Tellabration!: A Worldwide Storytelling Event, an epic storytelling happening taking place all over the world. Join us after early dismissal on Wednesday November 27 for a Moana Release Party featuring crafts, snacks and more!

The Romance Book Discussion Group will meet to talk about Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson. “One Ring Will Rule Them All” as the Classic Book Discussion Groups will talk about The Fellowship of the Ring, the first book in J.R.R. Tolkien’s famous Ring trilogy.

The library will be closed on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11. The library will close at 5 pm on Wednesday, November 27 and will be closed for Thanksgiving Day, November 28.

Milford residents may sign-up for a Milford Public Library card online or in person at the Library. Use your library card to fuel your mind with books, e-books, audiobooks, online databases and resources, and/or museum passes! Paper calendars are still available and can be printed using the link below; copies are also available at all library service desks.
