Milford Releases Bulk Waste Pickup Schedule For Spring 2026
The city is also advising residents on how to prepare items for pickup and which items qualify for pickup.
MILFORD, CT — The city has announced the schedule for spring 2026 bulk waste pickup.
The schedule is based on when your regular garbage day is. If your garbage pickup day is:
- Monday – bulk waste pickup will begin Monday, April 27
- Tuesday – bulk waste pickup will begin Monday, May 4
- Thursday –bulk waste pickup will begin Monday, May 11
- Friday – bulk waste pickup will begin Monday, May 18
Residents are required to "properly prepare and separate acceptable bulky waste items," according to the city.

Similar items should be grouped together in bags or containers. All acceptable items placed at the curb will be collected—including containers.
The following requirements will apply:

- Items must be manageable in weight so one employee can safely lift them
- Small bulk items must be bagged or boxed
- Compostable yard waste must be placed in disposable paper bags only (no plastic bags)
- Brush and wood must be cut, tied, and bundled in lengths of four feet or less
- Passenger car tires (maximum of four) must be separated from other waste
- Metal must be no longer than four feet and separated from other waste
- Electronics and white goods must be separated from other waste
- Bulk waste must be placed away from regular trash and recycling containers
- Items must be set out no earlier than the Saturday prior to your scheduled pickup date
Items not accepted include hazardous waste; liquid waste, including oil-based paint; propane and helium tanks; grass clippings, logs, and stumps; sheetrock, concrete, bricks, porcelain tubs, sinks, toilets, and other demolition materials.
