Milford Resident Brian Smith to Serve as Emcee

WQUN host Brian Smith serving as emcee for Sacred Heart Academy auction.

From Sacred Heart Academy: Host of WQUN’s The Brian Smith Afternoon Show, Brian Smith, will serve as this year’s emcee at the Academy’s signature fundraising event. Brian is the former co-host of The Smith and Barber Morning Show, a top-rated morning show in Connecticut for many years. After leaving that show, Brian went on to host his own Connecticut afternoon show, blending humor with national and local Connecticut news and events. He also worked as a news anchor in NYC, wrote a weekly column for a local newspaper, and narrated a public television documentary about the New Haven Coliseum.

Now, back in Connecticut, Brian is bringing his own style of observational humor and curiosity with the award winning news and information of Hamden-New Haven’s WQUN to The Brian Smith Afternoon Show which airs weekdays from 3 to 6 pm, on AM 1220, WQUN.

Nothing takes a backseat on-air when Brian is driving. Along with award winning news anchor, Mike Lyle Jr., they deliver a full show of interviews, coverage of local and national news and events, and America's best music.

Brian’s passion is helping Connecticut residents and supporting local nonprofits. A graduate of Jonathan Law High School, his Milford roots are deep with direct ties to some of the city's earliest founders. Committed to giving back to Connecticut, Brian has volunteered his immeasurable talents to such organizations as the Elks, Rotary, Bridges, United Way, and The Network of Executive Women.
