Milford Resident, Bridgeport Principal Accused of Stealing $10K from the School

Bridgeport police say the principal stole the money from a student fundraising account, and she spent it at various casinos.

A Milford resident and elementary school principal in the Bridgeport Public School system, who earns $125,212 annually, is accused of stealing more than $10,000 from a student fundraising account and gambling the money at casinos in Connecticut and Mississippi, the Connecticut Post reports.

Bridgeport police say Marilyn Taylor, 45, of Milford, who is the principal at the Dunbar School, has been charged with first-degree larceny. She is currently free on $20,000 bond.

Taylor has been on paid leave since November 10, and the Bridgeport schools superintendent says she will not return to the school system, the Post reports.
