Milford Restaurant Named Best Breakfast In Connecticut: People

People Magazine ranked the top breakfast places in all 50 states and here is the No. 1 choice for Connecticut.

MILFORD, CT — Well you know there is something special about a place when a man would fly from Germany to Milford, Conn. just to surprise his girlfriend for her birthday gift by having breakfast at her favorite spot.

That's exactly what happened in 2017 when Thomas Grubmueller flew his girlfriend nearly 4,000 miles to have breakfast at "The Corner” restaurant at 105 River St., the New Haven Register reported at the time. The story is that Grubmueller's girlfriend, Marina Duemler, fell in love with the Milford breakfast and brunch spot during a prior trip to the states.

Grubmueller and The Corner's Owner Michelle Lebel made the day special and turned the eatery into a birthday spectacular for Duemler including surprising her with balloons and a cake.

"The staff were all super efficient and friendly, quick but not in a ‘we want you out of here’ kind of way, and the owner was an absolute sweetheart, coming around to talk to each of the guests. And on top of that, the food was spectacular ... I can’t sing high enough praises of this place. If I lived closer than 2 hours away, I’d go there every weekend. If you are ever in the area, you need to do yourself the honor of stopping to eat here," she concluded.
