In addition, those employees who are not on top step advance one step each year. Because almost all (27 of 31) are at the top step, the cost of step is minimal, added Richetelli.
“There are significant changes in health insurance benefits. Co-pays were increased significantly,” Richetelli said.

Also, as an option, current employees will now be able to participate in a High Deductible Health Savings Account (HDHP/HAS) and all new hires must participate in the HDHP/HAS plan. Cost share contributions:
PPO HSA
2016-17 18.5% 12%
2017-18 19.5% 13%
2018-19 20.5% 14%
*Note that these cost shares are the highest of all the union employees in the City and Board of Education, Richetelli said.
