Milford School Board Needs To Approve $500K In Reductions
The Board of Finance voted earlier this year to reduce the Board of Education's budget request for next year by $500,000.

MILFORD, CT — The Board of Education is tasked with making a $500,000 reduction to its final approved budget for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Initially, Superintendent of Schools Anna Cutaia pitched a $98.47 million budget request and the school board reduced it by $438,024 to $98.03 million.
Then the Board of Finance made another $500,000 reduction down to $97.53 million, and this past week the Board of Aldermen made no further reductions. This means the school budget for 2020-21 will be $97.53 million, which represents a 2.583 percent spending increase.
Despite the overall budget increase, the school board still needs to approve $500,000 in reductions based on the finance board's actions.
