Milford Students Play In Prestigious Band Ensemble
Two Milford high school students played in the All-National Honor Ensemble conference.
MILFORD, CT — Two Milford school students performed at the All-National Honor Ensemble conference in Maryland.
Jonathan Law High School junior Christopher Rickard and Joseph Foran High School senior Noah Held played in the ensemble after auditioning earlier this year.
The two students joined 121 others from across the country to perform in the concert band section of the ensemble.

Held plays the bass clarinet and baritone saxophone. He is a member of the school jazz band, jass ensemble, saxophone ensemble and the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
“It was incredible being surrounded by so many super-talented musicians from across the entire country,” Held said in a release. “I would recommend anyone involved in music to ‘go for it’ as it was a memorable experience for everyone involved.”

Rickard plays the euphonium and is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society; he is also an honor student. Playing the euphonium is a tradition in his family and Rickard used his father's euphonium.
"One of the most impactful parts of participating in this event was meeting such great people and so many exemplary musicians," Rickard said in a release. "I met kids from everywhere: Kansas, Illinois, Massachusetts, it was incredible.”
