Milford Votes to Demolish Dilapidated House

The city owns the house, which it purchased in 1999.

The Milford Board of Aldermen voted recently to demolish a dilapidated house and garage that is part of the Solomon Property the city purchased in 1999, the Milford Mirror reports.

The city paid $400,000 for the house and garage, which is located at 810 West River Street. The city purchased the 90-acre Solomon Property for $4.4 million in 2001.

The house had been empty since 1999 and is in ruins, the Mirror reports, adding its open to the weather and animals.

The house was originally built in 1950, and once it’s demolished the site could accomodate between 15-20 parking spaces, the Mirror reports.
