Milford Woman Identified as Victim in Fatal Train Accident: Report
There were two fatal accidents in Connecticut on Friday.

MILFORD, CT - Lauren Escobar, 45, of Milford, a registered nurse and avid runner was the victim in Friday’s fatal train accident that occurred in Milford around 2 p.m., the Connecticut Post reports.
The Post adds that the MTA is still investigating the accident but nothing criminal occurred.
At the time of the accident a Metro-North spokeswoman told Patch that an unauthorized person was on the tracks and was struck by Amtrak train 2158 going from Washington D.C. to Boston.

Milford Fire Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi later said on Friday afternoon that the pedestrian was struck and killed by a train on the Northbound side of the railroad tracks. The incident occurred in the area of Gulf Street and Buckingham Avenue.
Approximately 300 passengers were reported to be on the train at the time of the incident. No injuries to train passengers or staff were reported, Fabrizi said at that time.

Earlier on Friday, a person was struck and killed by a train in Guilford.
The Guilford train fatality occurred around 8:25 a.m. Friday. About 120 people were on-board the Amtrak train and no one was injured in that incident. Trains were delayed Friday morning.
