Milford Woman Sues Uber, Claims Sexual Assault: Report

The lawsuit was filed recently against Uber by a local woman.

MILFORD, CT — A Milford woman is claiming in a lawsuit that she was sexually assaulted by an Uber driver in November 2017 as she was being driven from Bridgeport to Milford, according to Fox 61.

According to the lawsuit, the woman claims the driver sexually assaulted her, Fox 61 reports. A man was arrested after the incident and initially charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and he has since been granted accelerated rehabilitation, the CT Post reports. He ended up pleading guilty to a breach of peace charge, the CT Post reports.

The woman's lawyer Douglas Mahoney told Fox 61 that the purpose of the lawsuit is to ensure Uber takes meaningful steps to safeguard its customers including possibly installing cameras. Uber declined comment.
