Milford -- Your Electric Bills Are Going Down
A state regulatory agency has approved rate reductions for United Illuminating customers, starting July 1.
The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) on Friday approved revised generation rates for residential and business customers using standard service generation from United Illuminating (UI).
UI customers will see a drop in their generation charge to 9.12 cents a kilowatt hour from the current 13.3108 cents. The new standard service rates go into effect July 1.
The reduction of UI’s standard service generation charge reflects the decrease in the price of electricity generation in the wholesale market. UI procures power from the regional wholesale power market, under a procurement plan approved by PURA.
