Milford's Fireworks Details Announced
The city of Milford is holding a major fireworks event in July to celebrate the Fourth of July for the second straight year.

MILFORD, CT - To say last year’s fireworks and Milford’s first Kick Off to Summer event was a success is an understatement.
Approximately, 20,000 people attended the downtown festivities on a Thursday night.
This year, organizers are planning the food, music and fireworks extravaganza on Friday, July 1, which runs from 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Fireworks blast off around 9:15 p.m.

Event Organizer Daniel Worroll said confirmed bands include Michael Rea, who performs some of the legendary classics including Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, and the popular Rum Runners.
Worroll said there will be a lot more room for residents to enjoy the festivities at Milford Harbor, and more portable toilets and way more food trucks than last year. They’re hoping to double up on last year’s six food trucks.

Worroll is collecting for the event, which costs $18,000, and it’s no cost to taxpayers. If a business would like to donate they can email him at dworroll@optonline.net.
He said last year’s event was a great, family fun event and organizers are tweaking this year’s festivities to make this an even better time.
The rain date is Friday, July 8.
