MILFORD, CT — Speaker Emeritus James Amann announced that International Government Strategies, a lobbying firm he founded along with former state Sen. Win Smith, has been representing businesses and organizations in the state for more than a decade.

Since its inception, IGS has represented small businesses, manufacturers, green energy companies, and entertainment venues in both media, gaming and music industries in all their dealings with local, state and federal government.

During the past decade, the firm has a "strong track" record in a variety of areas including tax credits, economic development, health care, telecommunications, energy, the environment and education, according to a news release.

“We are determined to continue our positive influence on the direction of these important areas in the coming years,” Amann said in a prepared statement. “With our background and expertise in government affairs, we are able to provide precision-tuned solutions to meet our client’s needs. As a relatively new firm, we look forward to representing our clients for decades to come.”

Amann noted the firm has been strengthened by the addition of Michael Rell, who joined the firm as a lobbyist four years ago after serving with the House Republicans for more than two decades.
