More Than 200 Seat Belt Infractions Issued in "Click It or Ticket" Campaign

The following is a press release from the Milford Police Department:

On November 27, 2011 the Milford Police Department completed its participation in wave 41 of the Connecticut Department of Transportation High Visibility Safety Belt/Child Safety Seat “Click it or Ticket” Campaign.

Motorists and passenger compliance rose 6.5 % during this campaign resulting in 88.5 % compliance rating. Listed below are the enforcement results for this safety campaign.

Seatbelt infractions issued 216

Seatbelt warnings issued 43

Cell phone infractions issued 55

Cell phone warnings issued 34

Other motor vehicle/criminal offenses - infractions issued 41

Other motor vehicle offenses - warnings issued 53

Criminal arrests made 2
