My Neighbor's Cat Got Attitude

I live next door to a big, bad cat.

I thought the cat was a "scaredy cat," as the expression goes, because it jumped up on an overhang one day when it heard my dog running in the yard.

But this cat got attitude! (I use the word "got" instead of "have" for emphasis, of course. I know the difference.)

This week, I saw my dog running along the wooden fence, jumping and diving, huffing and puffing at something she apparently could see just beyond the slats.

Further investigation revealed that the so-called "scaredy cat" was sitting pretty on the other side, tail swirling around in deep satisfaction, as 130 pounds of dog went crazy on the other side.

It seemed as though the cat was saying, "Who's scared now?"
