Nearly $250K Worth Of Cigarettes Stolen: Milford Police

The accused is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond, police said.

MILFORD, CT — Police said a New Haven man is accused of stealing about $240,500 worth of cigarettes while working at a Milford business.

Police said Luis Cruz, 35, of Hallock Avenue in New Haven is charged with first-degree larceny and was given a $250,000 bond.

On Aug. 16, Cruz was charged on a warrant and he is accused of stealing about $240,500 worth of cigarettes between February and July of 2021 from his place of employment, Montano Distributors, police said.
