Neighborhoods of Milford: Woodmont

Susan Kopsco, co-Director of the Woodmont Volunteer Library, opens the doors to the library an hour early every Tuesday afternoon to accommodate those who have a passion in learning to play mahjong. On Tuesday at 2 p.m. four ladies, three of which are residents of Milford, gathered at the air-conditioned library to play a mock game of mahjong to get the basics down before moving on to a full-fledged game.

The library and the program offerings are just one of the jewels of Woodmont on the Sound. Down the street from the library are stunning views of Long Island Sound, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of a park bench or a leisurely stroll along Beach Avenue. Fishermen cast their lines from the jetty while kayakers prepared to shove off from the shore.
