New Director Appointed To Milford Public Library
Scott Brill, who worked at Milford Public Library from 2010 to 2015, is returning to serve as director.

MILFORD, CT — Scott Brill has been named the new director of the Milford Public Library, according to a statement from Mayor Anthony Giannattasio.
Seven qualified candidates applied for the position.
“Brill distinguished himself as our first choice based upon his work experience as well as his vision for the future of the Milford Public Library,” Giannattasio said in a statement.

Brill worked for the Milford Public Library from 2010 to 2015 as a library assistant in the Children’s Department.
He went on to be the circulation supervisor of the Huntington Branch Library. He returns to Milford after serving as the library director of the Derby Public Library since 2021.

Assistant Library Director Suzanne Harrison-Thomas served as acting director for the last few weeks.
Brill attended Gettysburg College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. He also attended Emerson College in Boston and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he earned a master’s degree in theater directing and a master’s in library science, respectively.
Currently, Brill is the president of the Fairfield Library Administrators Group and serves on the board of the Connecticut Library Association as the Connecticut State Representative to the New England Library Association.
He has also served on the Executive Board of the Connecticut Library Association as Treasurer and the CLA Conference Co-chair in 2023.
Brill is an associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, has been featured as a panelist on several trivia podcasts, has directed and acted in almost 200 community theatre productions, and appeared as a contestant on JEOPARDY!
Brill said in a statement, “I am thrilled to be returning to the Milford Public Library in this leadership role, after having worked in the Children's Department there almost a decade ago. I look forward to leading the dynamic and dedicated MPL team to continue the good work that Milford Public Library does for the Milford community and beyond.”
