New York Man Accused of Trying to Cash Two Forged $1,000 Checks
Police said the checks were counterfeit.

Milford police say a Bronx man, Aquil Russell, is accused of trying to catch two counterfeit checks each totalling $1,000.
Police said they received a complaint regarding a person attempting to cash a fraudulent check at Chase Bank on August 4. Investigation led to the arrest of Russell, who is accused of attempting to cash a counterfeit check worth $1,000.
Police also discovered that Russell attempted to cash another check for $1,000 at a second Chase Bank located at 1651 Boston Post Road in Milford.

He was charged with first-degree forgery and two counts of criminal attempt to commit fifth-degree larceny. He was held on $60,000 bond.
