CT Weather: Nor'easter Brings Heavy Rain, Strong Wind Gusts

Here is a look at all the active weather statements throughout Connecticut as of Tuesday night as a strong nor'easter arrives.

CONNECTICUT — The nor'easter has definitely lived up to the hype so far, as it has dropped several inches of rain across Connecticut and now strong wind gusts are expected after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

A wind advisory has been issued for portions of New Haven, Middlesex, and New London County until 2 p.m. Wednesday. Winds will be 20-30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

In Fairfield County, a flash flood watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday. The weather service said between 2.5 and 5 inches of rain have fallen, and an additional 1-2 inches of rain is still possible here.

A flash flood watch has been issued for Hartford, Tolland and Windham county until Wednesday evening. Up to four inches of rain may fall before the rain concludes. A flash flood watch is in effect for Litchfield County through Wednesday evening.

Tonight: Showers, mainly before 5am. Low around 51. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Windy, with a north wind 23 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 47 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. Northeast wind 8 to 13 mph.
