MILFORD, CT — In a social media post, the Milford Fire Department said it responded to 42 emergency calls from 11 p.m. Wednesday through 7 a.m. Thursday.
These calls were fire alarms, flooded homes and electrical concerns from the heavy rain.
"The MFD also responded to 10 emergency calls where individuals drove into flood areas, became stranded in their vehicles and had to be rescued by firefighters," fire officials said. "Today, we emphasize the need to stay away from the flood waters and do not attempt to go into the swift water with kayaks or canoes. Be safe everyone!"
