MILFORD, CT — Gerald J. Steer, age 91, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Yvonne Sire Steer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 3, 2024. Gerald was born in Duryea, PA on March 16, 1933 to the late Joseph and Eleanor Viscavage Steer. Gerald worked at Avco Lycoming for many years testing turbine engines. He was honorably discharged from the US Air Force and was stationed in France from July 1951 to February 1956. He enjoyed drawing and reading and was interested in classic cars.

Survivors include his daughter, Yasmine V. Cronin and her husband Craig of North Haven, three grandchildren, James and Christopher Steer of Stratford, and Craig J. Cronin and his wife Kimberly of Woodbridge, two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Brody Cronin, brother, James Steer of Duryea, PA and sister, Virginia Steer of Pittston, PA, daughter-in-law, Judith Steer of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. Gerald is predeceased by his son, Richard Steer and sister-in-law, Marcia Steer.
