Obituary: Margaret Irene Dennehy RN BSN, age, 71

Margaret Irene Dennehy RN BSN, of Bridgeport, died on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Peggie was born in Bridgeport on May 27, 1954 to the late Albert and Eleanor Veray Beck. She was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport and served as a dedicated nurse at both Bridgeport Hospital and Fairfield University. Her family remembers her most for her indomitable spirit; she famously completed her nursing degree after surviving an initial stage 4 cancer diagnosis. An avid Disney enthusiast and longtime Disney club member, Peggie cherished her many trips to the parks. She will be deeply missed by the many friends and family members she touched.

Survivors include her children: David Dennehy of Milford, Sean Dennehy and his wife Jenny of Colorado and Christopher Dennehy of Bridgeport a special grandson, whom she adored, Nick Dennehy and grandchildren, Ian Delorco and Amelia Dennehy, siblings, William Beck and his wife Carolyn of Milford and Kathleen Collett and her husband Loren of Dothan, Alabama. She is predeceased by her three brothers, Paul, Kevin and Albert Beck.
