Mary Eleanor Atterbury Bradshaw, age 91 of Stratford, Connecticut, passed away on April 8, 2025. She was the daughter of Robert and Beatrice Atterbury Jr of Ridgewood, New Jersey. Ridgewood was originally known as Godwinville when it was settled by Mary’s ancestor, Abraham Godwin.

After graduating from Lasell College, Mary embarked on a lifelong love of travel working for NorthWest Orient Airlines and Delta Airlines, and then as a travel agent for American Express, Singer Travel, and AAA World Wide Travel. Mary was an active participant with the Stratford Cooperative Nursery School, and was a PTA President at Wilcoxson Elementary School where she was instrumental in producing the first (and highly successful) Parent-Teacher Cabaret, and enjoyed being a Cub Scout Den Mother and Brownie Leader. A longtime member of the Stratford Republican Town Committee, she also enjoyed her position as a Justice of the Peace, as well as being a charter member and Vice President of the Stratford Women’s Club. Mary was a member of the DAR Mary Clap Wooster Chapter. Mary received great pleasure from her work as a C.P.A.C Beth El Shelter Board Member and 25-years volunteering at the Shelter Soup Kitchen (her meatloaf was much loved). She was an active member of St. Andrew’s Church vestry in Devon, CT.

Mary is survived by her brother, R. Rennie Atterbury III of Bridgewater, CT; her children, Martha Bradshaw and her husband Kevin Morrow, of Branford, CT; Richard S. Bradshaw and his wife Jovita, of Omaha, NE; J. Russell Bradshaw and his wife Caroline, of Bedford, PA. She was the proud grandmother of Ryan, Sean, Paige and Turner Bradshaw; and great-grandmother to Logan, Theodore, and Molly, Autumn and Avery.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Devon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, Milford is in care of arrangements. To leave an online condolence, please visit, www.gregoryfdoylefuneralhome.c...
