Obituary: ​Walter J. D'Avignon

Walter J. D'Avignon, age 93, of Milford, beloved husband of Diana Boyer D'Avignon, died on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Walter was born in Mexico, Maine on April 29, 1932 to the late Francis Jean and Evangeline LeJeune D'Avignon. He worked as a Stock Control Clerk in the shipping Department at Bassick corporation for over 35 years and was a proud US Army Veteran serving in the Korean war. Survivors in addition to his wife Diana include his children, Mark D'Avignon and his wife Michelle of Wallingford and Caroline D'Avignon of Milford, brother, John D'Avignon and his wife Ann of West Haven, grandchildren, Peter D'Avignon and his wife Lauren of Middletown and Andrew D'Avignon of Wallingford and a great-granddaughter, Raegan D'Avignon. He also had several nieces and nephews. Walter is predeceased by his brother Jerry D'Avignon and twin-sister, Helen Bernardo. Family and friends may call on Thursday July 31st from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Funeral Mass will be held following the calling hour at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Gabriel Church, Milford followed by military honors. There will be no interment.
