Quiet Now And Then Snow On Super Bowl Sunday Weekend?: CT Weather
Something has been missing from the forecast in January and that may change for the upcoming Super Bowl weekend in Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — It has been an odd winter, mainly because Connecticut has been largely immune to wintry weather. Outside of a minor snowstorm on Saturday, Jan. 18, which dropped a few inches of snow, this winter thus far has largely been a dud.
And NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Bob Maxon notes that trend will continue this week as there is a "complete absence of cold air in the eastern USA."
A complete absence of cold air in the eastern USA. Chilly? Sure, but well above what's considered seasonable. #NBCCT pic.twitter.com/UuW7zPTjMO

This work week looks tranquil as Tuesday through through Friday features sunshine. The temps will be in the upper 30s to low 40s each day. There is a slight chance of a flurry or rain shower today but temps will climb into the low 40s under mostly cloudy skies.

Wintry Weather for Super Bowl Weekend In CT?
It's a week away and next weekend starts a new month but maybe February will bring more wintry weather to Connecticut. There is a chance for snow to develop Saturday night and continue on Sunday, possibly changing to rain, according to initial forecasts from the National Weather Service.

Yes, it's a week away but we've been starved for snow this winter that at least there is hope in the seven day forecast for those that love snow. And if you dread snow, there is plenty of time for the storm to go out to sea. We'll update this weekend weather forecast later in the week as many people travel to watch the Super Bowl with friends and family.
WTNH News 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "A sprinkle or flurry today with lots of clouds and yes even some sun at times! High temperatures in the upper 30s to mid 40s and it will feel a little bit colder with the wind! It does not look like we’re going to have much weather trouble at all through the course of this work week. Maybe a flurry Wednesday morning and slightly colder Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. We still need to watch later Friday through the weekend for a storm and a disorganized mess moving by out to sea to our east. It is still days away so we need to watch it closely!
Happy Monday still with quiet conditions - an iso-shower possible this afternoon. No biggie. No biggies this week - until this weekend? Could there be a biggie waiting? Is 'biggie' a meteorological term? See you for the biggie show through 11am on @FOX61News pic.twitter.com/G6iTF6kszn

It's pretty obvious that it hasn't been a very snowy January this year, so let's talk extremes in the other direction. We had 51" more snow in the record setting month of Jan 2011 than so far in 2020! We're also 7.3" below avg so far & likely won't add to it in the next 4 days. pic.twitter.com/CGbC1Rr57D

Back in 2011 BDL picked up 54" of snow. Holding the title of the snowiest month on record at Bradley..wow! This Jan we're not even close to that or the average which is close to 14" ... thoughts on this winter so far? Snow lovers don't give up yet...we still have Feb and Mar. pic.twitter.com/nojcZNR1sa
