Opening Date Announced For New Burlington Store In Milford

MILFORD, CT — Burlington, the national off-price department store retailer, announced Monday it will open a new store in Milford on Aug. 23.

The new store will be located at Milford Crossing, 1397 Boston Post Road. The shopping center is anchored by "renowned brands such as Walmart, Jo-Ann Stores, and Marshalls," according to its website. The closest current Burlington locations to Milford are in Stratford and Orange.

The Milford store will showcase Burlington’s reimagined store layout and new store logo "Deals. Brands. WOW!" The refreshed store layout provides a better and more enjoyable shopping experience, making it easier for consumers to discover deals and savings on their favorite brands, the company said in a news release.

Milford will mark Connecticut's 16th Burlington store in Connecticut, and the company said in a news release more than 1,020 locations were open nationwide at the end of Q1 2024.

"Our goal is to continue to offer area residents low prices on brand name merchandise for the entire family and home," said Burlington Stores CEO Michael O’Sullivan in a news release. "We’re continuing to expand our footprint across the country and are excited to be opening a new store in Milford, CT. We look forward to giving local customers the chance to discover big savings on a wide range of products."

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Aug. 23 to celebrate the grand opening. The store will donate $5,000 to a nearby high-needs school through their long-standing partnership with the national non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org.

Funds will be used to provide students with classroom materials they need to learn and succeed. The presentation of the donation to the local school community will take place at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The first 100 customers age 18 and up on Aug. 23 and Aug. 24 can enjoy a $10 bonus card to be used toward their purchase. On Aug. 25, customers will receive a free Burlington umbrella, while supplies last; no purchase necessary.
