Outdoor Patio Approved For Downtown Milford Restaurant

MILFORD, CT — The city has approved a request by the owner of Bistro Basque at 13 River St. and El Barrio Latin Bar & Kitchen at 17 River St. to have an outdoor patio downtown, the Milford Mirror reports.

The deal allows for the owner to lease city land and create the private patio. Conditions include a $2,500 payment to the city, and it must close by 10 p.m. and there can't be any live music, the Mirror reports.

The outdoor patio plans received strong praise from the aldermen who added it will be a good thing for downtown. The owner David Fernandez envisions 10 to 15 tables on the deck. Area businesses supported the patio plans.
