Perfume Shoplifting Suspect Leads Milford Police on Foot Chase

Milford police say the suspect took perfume from Macy's and fled the store on foot and ran onto Route 1.

A Milford police officer ran down a shoplifting suspect, who allegedly stole $326 worth of perfume from Macy’s, police said Friday.

Police said they received a complaint regarding a shoplifting that occurred at Macy’s late Thursday.

Investigation led to the arrest of Marcus Moore, 29, of Bruwell Street in New Haven, who is accused of taking perfume from the store without paying for it, police said.

Moore then fled the store on foot, and a Milford police officer was able to apprehend him on the Boston Post Road following a foot chase, police said.

Moore physically struggled and resisted the officer’s efforts to arrest him, police said.

He was charged with sixth-degree larceny, interfering with police, and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was held on $10,000 bond.
