WTNH News 8 Anchor Brian Spyros Departs Station

CONNECTICUT — There have been some major developments in the Connecticut television landscape. In the past week or so, a popular anchor announced his departure, while another anchor gave birth and another had an engagement.

WTNH News 8 anchor and reporter Brian Spyros is leaving the television station after landing a job at Hartford HealthCare.

"I’ll miss the viewers and my colleagues," Spyros said on Facebook. "The last 6 years have been amazing. Thank you ALL! I’ll see you Sunday night on the anchor desk one last time ... I’ve accepted a position with Hartford HealthCare that will benefit me both personally and professionally.

"To my co-workers, there are no words to express how much I’ll miss you all. To my family and friends, thank you for your constant support and for always tuning in. To the amazing viewers, thank you for your respect and trust from day one. The people, the places and the thousands of stories have made it all an unforgettable ride. I’m leaving with so many wonderful memories, but I’m ready for the next chapter. Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart."

Fellow anchor Ann Nyberg said, "Bryan, we will miss your incredible sense of humor. All the best to you and your family."

And fellow anchor Anchor Stephanie Simoni added, "My pal! My deskmate! Always looked forward to seeing you on Wednesdays! Thanks for always providing laughter and levity. You will be missed around here. Congratulations on the new opportunity!"

At Fox 61, anchor Erika Arias recently shared news that she got engaged in late February.

She wrote, "Never imagined a Sunday Funday like this. Surprised beyond belief by my best friend, my partner, my sanity my love... with my loves by my side," Arias announced on social media.

Arias is the Fox 61 morning news anchor.

And Fox 61 anchor Audrey Kuchen gave birth to a baby girl, Dolly Georgia Foley, on Monday. Kuchen joined the Fox 61 team in 2010 and anchors the news at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Friday.
