The restaurant which has been a downtown staple since 1996 will close later this month.
MILFORD, CT — Popular downtown restaurant Rainbow Gardens is under contract to be sold by Sept. 6 to an undisclosed buyer after 30 years in business.
Co-owner John Profetto said that he believes the restaurant will be closed for renovations after the deal is finalized, according to the Milford Mirror.
Profetto and his wife and restaurant co-owner Heather bought the Broad Street location and opened Rainbow Gardens in 1996.

They announced on Facebook that their last day will be Saturday Aug. 24.

" So bring your gift cards and come out and wish us nothing but the best on our next great adventure," The Profettos said in a Facebook post. "We could not have done this without family. We did all of it always for our three boys whom we love to infinity and beyond."
They also thanked the restaurant staff and loyal customers they've had throughout the decades.
