The Golden Hill Health Care Center located at 2028 Bridgeport Ave. was fined $2,740 after a resident broke a leg at the facility on July 31, reports Kate Farrish of the Connecticut Health I-Team.
The nursing home facility was hit with the fine on Feb. 5 as the resident also suffered a bruise in the fall. The facility was also cited because staff did not notify a doctor for eight hours after the resident was found injured, the report states.
Additionally, the resident wasn’t sent to the hospital for more than 10 hours after displaying initial pain, the report states.

Two nurses were disciplined, reports state. A new management firm that operates the facility told the Connecticut Health I-Team that the violation occurred before they took over in January.
