Retail Theft Group Stole Thousands In Merch From Store: Milford Police

A group police say has hit stores in multiple states stole over 100 items worth thousands from a Milford store, according to police.

MILFORD, CT — Police arrested two people accused of being part of an organized retail theft group. The two stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, according to police.

Police received information Wednesday that an organized retail theft group was believed to be at the Marshalls at 1413 Boston Post Road.

Police contacted loss prevention employees at the store who told them they had been looking into an organized retail theft group driving a black Honda CR-V tied to numerous thefts from Marshalls, Burlington, and TJ Maxx stores in New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Police responded and took custody of Carlos Cueva Arias, 37, and Jenifer Salines, 27, both of Paterson, New Jersey.

Police found a large quantity of stolen merchandise in the pair's vehicle, seizing a total of 119 items worth $2,390, according to police.

Both were charged with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, and possession of a shoplifting device. Salines was also charged with interfering with an officer.

Bond was set at $5,000 for each. They were taken to Milford Superior Court on Thursday.

The investigation is ongoing.
