Road Rage Near Town Green

A 38-year-old Milford man has been arrested after a road rage incident near the Milford Green, police said.

The man, identified as Stanley Hicks of 36 Richards St., was arrested Thursday night on a warrant in connection with a June incident in which a woman driving along the green reported that the motorist behind her had struck the rear of her vehicle after a one-man shouting match, police said.

The woman reported on June 3 that there was an erratic driver on North Broad Street, near the Milford Green, according to police.

"Investigation revealed that Hicks was following behind another vehicle yelling, swearing and following in an unsafe manner," police said.

"Due to an event on the green, the other operator was driving cautiously with the increased pedestrian traffic in the area," police continued.

"Hicks followed the vehicle to the intersection of Golden Hill Street and Clark Street, where the other operator exited her vehicle to observe Hick's license plate and told him she was calling the police."

"Hicks allegedly began pushing the other vehicle with his vehicle's front bumper. The other operator was able to pull off to the side of the road when Hicks continued yelling at her and drove away from the scene," police added.

A computer check of the license plate led to Hicks being identified as the operator -- and a warrant being issued for his arrest, according to police.

Hicks was charged with breach of peace and evading responsibility, police said. He was released on $500 bond pending a court date, according to police.
