Robert (Bob) Rubino, of Branford CT passed away on March 17, 2025.
Bob joined the Orange Police Dept. in 1961. He served the Town of Orange for 25 years.

Robert (Bob) Rubino of Branford CT, beloved spouse of Rose Rubino, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by friends and family. Bob was born in 1932 in Philadelphia and was the last born of 10 children. He was the last surviving child of Stephen and Mary Rubino.
Bob attended Marple Newtown high School and was the talk of his yearbook when everyone commented on the time the class trip went to New York City. It is still a mystery what transpired. Bob then enlisted in the Navy and served aboard a carrier from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War in multiple positions and eventually became a rear gunner on a Dauntless dive-bomber. As a family we would cherish starting up the 8mm projector and watching Dad as he flew on and off the carrier.
After the Navy, Bob enlisted in the Army from 1959 to 1961 where he became a military police officer preparing him for his career in law enforcement. He joined the Orange Police Dept. in 1961. He served the Town of Orange for 25 years. Before he retired Bob completed the FBI National Academy’s Law Enforcement program finishing off a highly decorated career. His education culminated in a Master’s degree from University of New Haven as well as an independent study for Yale University. He loved going to Mory’s for lunch. After retirement he loved spending time with family, cooking, golf, crabbing. He so enjoyed his final years looking at the sunsets of Stony Creek.
