Several Milford Roads, Coastal Areas Flooded

MILFORD, CT — Several Milford roads are flooded Saturday afternoon, and officials are saying drivers should avoid inundated areas.

Fire Battalion Chief and Public Information Officer Adam Hansen said that the following roads are impassable and closed:

  • New Haven Avenue between Old Gate Lane/Water Overpass by Sundae House
  • Gulf Street and Oldfield Lane
  • 1st Avenue & Milford Point Road

Drivers are advised that more areas may be flooded, so drivers should use caution and not attempt to drive through water.

The City of Milford posted the following on Facebook regarding coastal flooding:

"As a result of the recent storm, the City of Milford is experiencing some coastal flooding in advance of the 12:23pm high tide. Water levels will continue to rise as we approach high tide and shoreline residents are encouraged to move cars to higher ground. As a reminder, please do not drive through flood waters."

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood warning that is in effect until 3 p.m. Saturday.
