Severe Thunderstorm Warning Now Cancelled For New Haven County
Severe weather is moving through New Haven County now.

NEW HAVEN COUNTY, CT — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has now expired for New Haven County as of 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS says as of 9 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located over Newtown, moving east at 35 mph. The area could see 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
"Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines," the NWS says.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
"For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways," the NWS says.

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between midnight and 3am, then a slight chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
