Severe Thunderstorm Warning For New Haven, Middlesex County
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for New Haven County and northern parts of Fairfield County and a severe thunderstorm warning for New Haven and Middlesex county until 10 p.m.
"A line of strong thunderstorms will affect central Fairfield and central New Haven counties," the weather service said. "At 914 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Southbury to near Newtown to Redding to Ridgefield. Movement was east at 55 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with these storms."

New Haven, Milford, Wallingford, Shelton, Naugatuck, Guilford, Southbury, Clinton, Newtown, Hamden, Stratford, Trumbull, Branford, Ridgefield and North Haven.

And a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect New Haven and Middlesex County until 10 p.m.
"At 907 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Woodbury Center, or near Southbury, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines."
