SO YA WANNA BE A BROADWAY STAR?! (March 12th, 2016)
This awesome event lets actors and singers perform in front of Broadway and Film pros and receive helpful feedback! Audience welcome!

The New Paradigm Theatre to host their signature event:
“So Ya Wanna Be A Broadway Star?”
An audition and talent development event on Saturday, March 12th 10-2pm
at The Fairfield Theatre Company StageOne, Fairfield, CT
Singers and Actors! Ages 8 through adult will audition and receive professional feedback from Broadway directors and producers for an opportunity to be featured in upcoming New Paradigm Theatre Company (NPT) productions with Broadway, Film and TV stars.

Last year, students from Greenwich to Hartford, CT competed in this popular audition and talent development event. Cidalia Alves, the 2014 winner, gained valuable talent development skills from the NPT Broadway professionals, and was appeared on TV following the competition. “The chance to perform in front of Broadway decision makers and to network with them was invaluable,” said Alves.

Kristin Huffman, NPT’s Producing Artistic Director, a Broadway Performer and a professor at the University of Hartford, will also lead a master-class-like panel discussion with TV and Film professional, Scott Bryce, Film and Broadway music Producer Paul Bogaev and University Professor from the Hartt School, Tracey Moore. The competitors and audience will have a Q&A session, and will receive general advice regarding life on the ‘wicked’ stage. Huffman says, “Mentoring and talent development is a large part of NPT’s mission statement. We often feature standout performers from this event in NPT’s various professional shows. Our Youth Board & Student Leadership Council, made up of Milford to Greenwich teen leader students, is also involved with this event. Our Youth Board crowd-funds and performs for other nonprofits also.”
NPT knows that entertainment industry networking is crucial to success and participants will have access to a star-studded team of judges at the event. On March 12th, event participants will meet and receive talent development feedback from: Paul Bogaev (Music Movie Producer: Dreamgirls, Chicago and Across the Universe); Scott Bryce (Emmy-nominated TV and Film performer) ; John Reid (Exec Dir of Fairfield Theatre Co) and Tracey Moore, (Hartt School (University of Hartford)
NPT will also select performers from this event the chance to sing or act in other NPT shows throughout the 2016-2017 season as well as a very special upcoming theatrical production this summer directed by Scott Bryce and music direction by Paul Bogaev.
Early bird registrants will receive a discounted application fee, and a complimentary group master class with Kristin Huffman, NPT’s Producing Artistic Director to help prepare for the event. The deadline for early bird registrations is March 5, 2016.
