Hazardous Weather Outlook, Advisories Issued For Southern Connecticut
The National Weather Service has issued multiple advisories, which cover Friday and the upcoming weekend. Here's what you need to know.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for Friday morning and a heat advisory and hazardous weather outlook for the upcoming weekend.
The dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Friday. Visibility may be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less, which could lead to hazardous driving conditions, the weather service cautioned.
The weather service said the "first widespread hot spell of the season is expected this weekend, with heat indices well into the 90s away from the coast. This will increase the risk of heat-related illness for vulnerable populations."

A heat advisory has been issued from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday for inland sections of southern Connecticut. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s at the immediate coast.
"With the heat expected this weekend, it`s important to keep in mind that ocean, nearshore, and inland water temperatures remain cold, in the 50s to around 60 degrees," the weather service said. "Physical incapacitation and hypothermia are likely in as little as 10 minutes if you fall in the water, greatly increasing the risk of drowning."
