Special Weather Statement Issued For Coastal Sections Of Southern Connecticut

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for all the Interstate 95 corridor towns this morning.

In the special weather statement, the weather service wrote: "Widespread fog has reduced visibilities below a mile across Long Island and the Connecticut coast, with locally dense fog reducing visibilities to 1/4 mile. If traveling use caution. Allow for extra room between you and the vehicle in front of you and use fog lights if available."

Current traffic conditions:

BRIDGEPORT - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 26 and 21 (3.9 miles). Reported Friday, May 13 at 6:26 am.

WESTPORT - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 18 and 11 (8.6 miles). Reported Friday, May 13 at 6:44 am.

TRUMBULL - Delays. RT15 Southbound is congested between Exits 49 and 44 (4.5 miles). Reported Friday, May 13 at 6:24 am.

WESTPORT - Delays. RT15 Southbound is congested between Exits 44 and 37 (6.4 miles). Reported Friday, May 13 at 7:08 am.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers after 2am. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 57. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
