Special Weather Statement Issued For Southern Connecticut
The National Weather Service has just issued a Special Weather Statement for Southern Connecticut.

A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Southern Connecticut this morning for slippery road conditions due to this morning's ice storm.
The National Weather Service says, "While precipitation has ended, there remains some locations with temperatures at or below freezing. For these locations, there will still be some icy spots from earlier freezing rain and freezing drizzle on any untreated surfaces. This will result in some localized slippery conditions. Use extra caution if traveling this morning. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing areawide by around 9am."
Several schools have delayed openings this morning and numerous crashes have been reported.
