Stella McGurk, 91, of Milford, passed away on October 31, 2024.

Stella volunteered in several church knitting groups, creating blankets and hats for babies and cancer patients.

Stella McGurk, 91, of Milford, CT, wife of the late Joseph McGurk, passed away on October 31, 2024. Born on March 31, 1933, in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Orzolek.
Stella, a beloved mother and grandmother, was born and raised in New Haven before moving to Southington, Watertown and Thomaston, CT. She and Joseph also owned a home in Sarasota, Florida, where they spent their winters.
For 28 years, she shared a joyful life with her husband, creating cherished memories together. Stella was also a devoted member of Christ the Redeemer Church in Milford.
Stella worked as a bookkeeper at Zurbach Steel in Southington, CT for many years. She was an avid knitter and crafter her whole life, always gifting her creations to family members and friends. She volunteered in several church knitting groups, creating blankets and hats for babies and cancer patients. She also volunteered her time at the Milford Hospital Gift Shop.
A passionate supporter of the UConn Huskies, Stella loved cheering for both the men’s and women’s teams. Known for her wonderful sense of humor and strong family values, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. Stella’s spirit and sense of generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Stella is survived by her three daughters, Karen Bryant of Amherst, MA, Jeanne Rawdin of La Jolla, CA, and Stacey Macdonald and her husband, Stephen, of Milford, CT; and her eight grandchildren: Emily Bryant (Michael Townsend) of Providence, RI; Chelsea Bryant (Alex Levey) of Providence, RI; Hannah (Matthew) Ohara, Mark Rawdin, and Quinn Rawdin of San Diego, CA; and Jordan, Brandon, and Gavin Macdonald of Milford, CT. She is also predeceased by her cherished son, Mark Kiltonic.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
