Over development.
Milford is a beautiful city. We attract many people each year that visit our beaches, retail areas, and love the sense of community Milford has to offer. Milford’s convenience and beauty attract people who want to call Milford their home. They have a right to be a part of our community.
However, much of our city is being over developed. The once wooded areas have been cleared, and leaving no room for local wildlife. Historic homes are being torn down and replaced with multi-unit complexes. This form of over development is impacting local neighborhoods by driving wildlife from their natural habitats into yards and public spaces. Streets are being overcrowded with vehicles and there are traffic jams all throughout the city.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
The biggest difference between myself and my opponent is that I'm a regular citizen who cares about our city. I have worked in construction in the past but no longer work in that field. I personally will have no financial gain from serving on P&Z and because of that you can expect me to follow regulations already on the books and not continuously vote for special approvals that anger local neighbors
Accomplishments:
My accomplishments in life have taught me a few things. I have worked and managed a few different industries. Those industries include mechanics, construction, distribution, landscaping and tech/manufacturing with people from many backgrounds.
My work history proves I have what it takes to find a middle ground in all situations to make everyone happy, and have their voice heard and work together.
Other issues:
I can sum up my campaign with 3 words: responsible, sustainable development. If we don't act now our city may end up like others in the area. We need to have a city that protects our open space and wildlife, but also allows existing residents to expand for their needs within reason.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I was born and raised in Milford. I met my wife, Rachel, at our local church. We purchased a fixer upper home in Devon 10 years ago and have remodeled it to be a beautiful home for our family. We are raising our two boys and our precious baby girl right here in this community. I organized the cleanup of Hazelwood Park in our neighborhood this past spring. I have also volunteered with many organizations, including the OVFD. I am proud to be a small part of such an amazing community.
