Stolen Dog Now Found, Car Recovered: Milford Police: UPDATE

Leo, the 2-year-old goldendoodle, has been found early Saturday after he was stolen along with a car Thursday.

UPDATE: "Leo has been found safe! Thanks for sharing and spreading the word," Milford police said early Saturday.


Original story: MILFORD, CT — Police have located the car that was stolen yesterday in Milford, but Leo the dog remains missing.

The 2022 Kia Forte was recovered Friday afternoon after it was stolen from the Dibella's parking lot on the Boston Post Road. Leo was inside the vehicle when it was stolen. He is a 2-year-old goldendoodle.

Dibella's Subs announced it would offer an award to the person or persons who help locate the dog.

"We are heartbroken that this happened in our parking lot!" the company tweeted. "Whomever can help locate this dog and car will also receive a $100 gift card from DiBella's. Let's get Leo home soon!"

Emanuel Castillo, of Seymour, told Fox 61 that he doesn't care about his car and just wants his dog back. The dog had an ear infection and was on medication, Castillo told Fox 61. He said Leo was "like a therapy dog" to his mother, according to Fox 61. (Read more at Fox 61).
